Direct primary care (DPC) is a membership model. You pay a flat monthly fee directly to the practice, with no insurance middleman between you and your doctor. DPC practices have been opening all over the country in recent years, and many families find the model easier to understand and budget for.

Good to know: starting in 2026, federal law allows DPC memberships to be paid with HSA funds, within IRS limits. Check with your HSA administrator for your plan's details.
