IV Vitamin C in Lucedale: Energy, Fatigue, and Feeling Like Yourself Again
Ask a neighbor how they're doing and you'll often hear "Hanging in there." Most of us know the difference between hanging in there and actually feeling like ourselves. One is getting through the day. The other is having enough left over to enjoy it: the porch after supper, the grandkids on Sunday afternoon, the garden, the work you love.
That difference is why we pay attention to research on quality of life, not just energy. At Stanford Clinic & Herb Shop, people regularly ask us about IV vitamin C as one way to support their general wellness, so here's an honest look at what one piece of research says and what it doesn't.
What the research says
In 2014, Carr, Vissers, and Cook published a paper in the journal Frontiers in Oncology reviewing research on intravenous vitamin C, fatigue, and quality of life. Across the studies they reviewed, IV vitamin C was associated with improved quality of life and decreased fatigue.
That's encouraging, and it's also worth reading carefully. "Associated with" isn't the same as "guaranteed," and the people in those studies aren't the same as every person who walks through our door. This research looked at how people felt (their fatigue and their quality of life). It isn't evidence that IV vitamin C treats any disease, and we don't offer it that way. What it does suggest is that, for some people, IV vitamin C may help with how they feel day to day.
What our patients tell us
Patients here who have received IV vitamin C have told us they noticed more energy and less fatigue afterward. Everyone responds differently, so we treat that as a reason to have a conversation, not as a promise.
How IVs work at our clinic
Every IV at Stanford Clinic & Herb Shop is administered personally by Dr. Casey Stanford, M.D. You won't be handed off to a stranger. Along with IV vitamin C, we offer the Myers' Cocktail and several custom blends, and Dr. Casey can talk with you about which, if any, makes sense for you.
If you're a clinic member, you get 50% off listed IV prices. That's one of the ways membership is meant to make good care more affordable for families in George County and across South Mississippi.
