Slippery elm, her words not a clinic order
Barbara O’Neill says herbs are for the service of man. She talks about powdered slippery elm bark used inside or out, and a jar mix she calls gut repair: slippery elm with a little goldenseal and a little myrrh. She calls goldenseal her “king of tonics” for mucous membranes. She also boils a root tea before a meal — one part dandelion, one part licorice, one part gentian, half a part goldenseal — because she says they are roots, a quarter cup hot. Her words, not a clinic order. Not medical advice. Does not replace your doctor.
